About Expressions

Meet the team: from salon owner to trainee, the Expressions team are highly experienced and well trained professionals, amazingly enthusiastic and totally motivated.

To meet the high professional standards we set ourselves the team members receive on-going training at Expressions under the City & Guilds training programme and under the expert guidance of Stephen making use of his many years of knowledge in the industry.


Stephen, the boss

Main man and leader of the pack Stephen has been a hairdressing professional since the year dot. From his early roots training with British World Cup Hairdressing Team trainer Malcolm Summers. Then managing his solo career, via a stint in Miami, Florida, where Stephen worked for La Puma on photo shoots. On returning to the UK Stephen set up Expressions and for 10 years he ran two salons side by side. After many top-level competitions and awards, Stephen was dedicated to passing on his vast amount of knowledge. Stephen’s passion has always been for his team and in training them to be the best.

Kelly, the colour technician

The longest serving member of the team at 12 years, Kelly started out as an apprentice who soon became Expressions’ expert resident colour technician of over 20 years. Challenge loving and not afraid to experiment, Kelly makes full use of the amazing spectrum of natural hair and fashions colours available at the salon. Kelly’s favourite aspect of hairdressing? Colouring of course!
